Q. What is Ausmectin?
Ausmectin Sheep Drench is an ivermectin based oral solution for the treatment and control of ivermectin sensitive strains of internal roundworms (including benzimidazole, levamisole and morantel-resistant strains), nasal bot and itchmite of sheep.
Q. How do you use Ausmectin cattle pour-on?
The dose rate is 1 mL for each 10 kg body weight. Dose the mob according to the heaviest animal in the group (cows, bulls, calves, heifers etc.). Do not under dose and avoid excessive overdosing. It is recommended that a representative sample of animals should be weighed with either scales or a weightband before treatment. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the complete parasite control program.
Q. Does ivermectin treat lice in cattle?
Ausmectin® Cattle Pour-On
Active constituents: IVERMECTIN 5 mg/mL
AUSMECTIN® CATTLE POUR-ON is a ready-to-use solution of ivermectin, a member of the macrocyclic lactone class of endectocides, which has a unique mode of action. It acts selectively in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells resulting in paralysis and death of the parasite. AUSMECTIN® CATTLE POUR-ON is indicated for the control and treatment of ivermectin-sensitive gastrointestinal roundworms (including inhibited immature Ostertagia ostertagi), lungworms (Dictyocaulus viviparus), eyeworms (Thelazia spp.), sucking and biting lice, chorioptic and sarcoptic mange mites, buffalo flies (Haematobia irritans exigua) and cattle ticks (Boophilus microplus).
Ivermectin has a long intrinsic half-life, which provides excellent residual protection against parasitic reinfestation for a varying period depending on the target parasite and the pharmaceutical nature of the ivermectin formulation.
